Push services and Find My iPhone iPhone 2G problems
There have been a lot of iPhone 2G users noting that since 3.0 they no longer receive inbound calls.
This seems to be caused by the new push services setting up a data connection to the phone and blocking calls.
After testing this with my old iPhone one of the biggest culprits seems to be Find My iPhone. If this is enabled the phone is unable to receive any inbound calls and calls go straight to voicemail.
I turned off Find My iPhone and tested again and calls went through.
I then tried spamming messages to the AIM beta app from my Mac and this also blocked calls. As soon as I stopped spamming messages I could call the iPhone.
Normally if you have a GPRS data connection active on a mobile and a call comes through the call has priority. However this is not the case with the iPhone 2G. Which is pretty much a major issue.
So, if you have a 2G device do not enable Find My iPhone and if you seem to be missing many calls turn off push services.

It's always been the case that when you were using and EDGE data connection, the phone wouldn't work. So if you spent a lot of time on the internet with EDGE, you'd also risk missing calls. 3G doesn't have that problem.
