temperature parameters

I have a 24" intel iMac (2006 model) running tiger that sometimes "appears" to run hot. I have a widget that gives me various temperature readings and fan speeds but cannot find out what the appropriate temp settings are ( HD -CPU - CPU Diode and Power Supply seem to run hotter than others) any suggestions? Thanks in advance

The component manufacturers provide operating temperatures for the components, which gives you a good idea about what are acceptable temperatures. The Max temps for a hard drive are round about 50-60 degrees C and mobile processors, it's about 90 degrees C.
