Stolen Laptop - need help remote logging in

I can't get into details as I'm a little paranoid, but this is the deal:

My laptop was stolen and I have the opportunity to log into it. I have about a 1 minute window to log into the computer. I need to know what ports / system preferences I can turn on/configure so I can SSH in later to get more control of the machine. Ideally I'm going for maximum effectiveness in the least amount of time - need to be in and out in 1 minute.

Ideally I would like to be able to SSH into the machine and be able to remotely install software (undercover) without detection. I would also like to be able to download files.

The thief is already cooked - I've got the IP address of the machine, and the Cops are getting a search warrant so that the ISP can release their info - this is going to take a week or so and ideally I would like to get access sooner than that. Any help/suggestions would be great. Thanks!
