10.2.3 and now 10.2.4 (apps refuse to quit)

Under 10.2.3, M$ Entourage would refuse to quit or at least it will quit (I think) but the dock icon shows it as running. Often I end up force quitting and in the Force Quit window, Entourage is highlighted in red.



I now have 10.2.4 and iTunes seem to be doing what Entourage did (though Entourage quits instantaneously now). What's up?
