Question about Notes Syncing

I have a MacBook Pro and MobileMe and also have a iPhone 3G. I haven't upgraded to 3.0 yet but am considering it.

One question I have is about Notes syncing.

-Does it sync over MobileMe or would I have to connect my iPhone through USB to the computer

-Also, I switched to Thunderbird sometime back for Email so don't use Apple's Mail App. If I'm correct the way to get to the Notes on the Mac side is to use Mail and go under the Reminders Section. Is this correct? I know where it sync on the iPhone but is there a way to view or create notes on the Mac without going into Mail?

Thank you for help with the above questions.

The Notes syncing feature is very convoluted indeed, but it appears to work one way through Mobile Me as well as through iTunes. Notes, on the Mac, are part of OSX Mail.app They look identical as on the iPhone. No there is no separate OSX app.

When you configure Mobile Me syncing for your Mac, you will notice several other items that backup/sync to Mobile Me if you so choose, such as your Dock items, Preferences......and Notes.

However, a new Note created in the Mail.app will not Push to the Notes app on the iPhone and vice versa. (Major fail in my opinion). However, any notes synced through iTunes from iPhone > Mail, or Notes created within Mail, will be backed up to Mobile Me. (so whenever adding your Mobile Me to a Mac, it will pull down backed up Notes).

In summary, the only way to transfer Notes from iPhone < to > Mail is through a (usb) sync with iTunes.

    It sucks, i concur
