iPhone 3G S Bluetooth Connection/Pairing Problems w/ MacBook Pro

I can't seem to properly connect/pair my iPhone 3G S running 3.0 software with my MacBook Pro. It shows paired, but "Not Connected. The iPhone just shows it searching and searching, but never finding the MacBook Pro.

If I click for it to connect to network it shows a pop up saying this... There was a problem connecting to your device. Make sure devices are on, in range, paired correctly, and services such as Bluetooth tethering are set up properly.

I know others have got this to work without any problems so just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions?

Thanks.

I figured it out. Was just a specific order I had to do things in.

Bryan, what was the order that worked for you? I want to pair my phone with my macbook pro to improve the speakerphone audio (actually get the volume up a bit).
