Safari window doesn't fit

Open safari, and drag it full size. Look at the bottom of the screen. Is there a space at the bottom? About 5 pixels of the background?

Mine is like that, and it is kind of distracting. Is anybody elses like this? How do you fix it?

It is like that for most apps. I just don't do full screen for a window except for movies then it is a real full screen. Don't know if you can change it.

Loads of apps do this and I read somewhere that it was to do with the dock but the Finder goes right to the bottom so I don't know. It is a bit of a pain especially if you watch movies in windowed mode. I used to have a background image that was black at the bottom and that helped but it needs to be fixed.

It's supposed to be like that. Apple prevents the window from conflicting with the Dock?unlike many applications (including the Finder) that allow you to resize underneath the Dock. Full-screen windows like in Windows are not really a part of OS X, I'm afraid.
