The low end is really sad, even if they dropped the price by 200 dollar they downgraded it from dual 867 to single 1 GHz <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" />

    Pathetic!

Aren't you being a little harsh. Jon Q Consumer doesn't care about Dual Proc at that level. They want to see high Megahertz. You add in a Superdrive you're looking pretty good at $1699.

    Love the 20"

They also want to see lower prices. $1499's not low enough for the single GHz tower.

    A dual 1gig should be $1,499.

but they now have Radeon 9700 Pro BTOs!

Ahhh I'm sure that puts it into enough budgets to make it a viable purchase. We all want cheaper Macs but any steps towards smaller cash outlay for an Apple is welcome.

I'm sure you're right that it puts it into more budgets, but I'm sure there are still people who want an expandible Mac but don't want to spend $1499 on one. But yeah. any steps in the right direction are good.

There is another thread on this subject. Both posted at exactly the same time, but the other has hit 2 pages already.... better to keep it to one thread.

    Sorry Andor.
