Safari works with wireless but not ethernet

OK - I have another unrelated problem with Safari.

I have temporarily switched locations. The new one has no wireless, just ethernet.

Everything works with the connection(FireFox, ports, NewsFire) EXCEPT Safari.

Safari just gives me "Cant open Page". I have quit and reopened it.

Any ideas on what might cause such a thing?

Thanks for any tips...

    1. Check the proxy settings in System Preferences->Network for the problematic location.

    2. Try disabling IPv6 for that location.

    3. Did you try entering a site's IP address in Safari (I heard some people encounter random DNS-related bugs when switching locations)?

    Thanks for the reply.

I am back at the wireless site which works at the moment, so I cannot test.

It seems so funny that FireFox can switch locations, but Safari can't.

Next time I get it I will test the DNS bug.

    Thanks again for the tips...
