It's the next logical step, and overdue for the programs to become an office suite.

MWSF is typically when Apple updates iWork and iLife. It's more of a software update even than a hardware one.

Since Apple.com hired a dedicated Sound engineer months ago,

i believe (what else) that they are going to reveal an overhaul of the iPod Hi-Fi.

    I'd embrace that.

    Well let me guess:

iPod Hi-Fi with better speakers (tweeters) and

    wireless streaming capabilities included.

Maybe they developed a 2 Box system, one of the Box

keeps the cradle of the iPod (similar to Audioengine)

or they got a 2.1 system, ala Teufel.

Maybe the new iPod Hi-Fi is able to automatically detect

another existing iPod Hi-Fi nearby and gains an iPod Hi-Fi chain,

in which one of the Box acts as a left speaker system and the other

as the right speaker system, a little bit like Bose only wireless.

Anyway however it unfolds it will be a huge improvement over the existing

iPod Hi-Fi (which is still a good system anyway).

if that new iPod HiFi happens, I'll spend most of the evening rolling on the floor in tears, I just got the current one for xmas!!

    iLife 07 & iWork 07

    iTV

    Mac Mini

    Possibly silent:

    Mac Pro new options - blu-ray & 8 core, 2GB RAM standard

    New Cinema Displays (black please!!!)

Improvements to iLife are a given. It seems to be a repeating theme at MacWorld. However, this year I think iWork will get the update with the spreadsheet application that's been rumored. Maybe I can finally stop using Microsoft Office. The more Mac products, the better IMO.

Don't worry, you've got still a decent device, which will last a

    few years particularily designwise.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did. It is a classic selling strategy around the holiday season. Apple is well aware that tons of people received iPods and Apple products for Christmas. Now they update all of em' so you can buy the new one in a few months! The sad part is that it works...myself included.

Separable speakers for stereo sound with independent volume control on each speaker and I'll buy one.

There are a few so called active speaker sets on the market right now.

This is one of them, that i found interesting.

Another brand you have certaintly to look up is Yamaha, Fostex.

They all offer decent and effordable active speaker systems,

which originally are aimed at (home) studio monitoring.

But most of these said speaker systems play very good

    in the livingroom, too.

My DirecTV rep said that there is a major, all-cities software update on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Could it be??? Apple buys DirecTV and incorporates the DirecTV programming into "I-TV?"

(Before you beat me up, just take it with a grain of salt - a little humor. Then, if it were to become true, I'd be considered a brilliant insider with connections. Also, I'd probably be sued by Apple.)

Two days to go and no elevator photos yet. Damn, Apple is really good at keeping things secret.
