Actually, as I recall, LED backlit displays use more power, so they'd make more sense in the iMac ? which would then have vividly better color/black performance.

And I'm still holding out for a parrot.

    To all.

The little bird flapped his wings

and from the sky, he looks at you.

The day was long, he must retire.

And carefull too, cause it is night.

"Of all the things you threw at me.

The four you tried, but only three.

The three seem small,I know you reason,

but that's not all, you'll see this season"

    Until tomorrow, I too await.

For all the three and then the other.

I thank you all , and I'm sincere

    I'll fly again

    and return here.

I was blown away. But, I , too, will only know after MacWord.

Oh no, we're not back to the flat screen TV rumor of MWSF06 are we?

Yeah, I know, no hinting ...

    4. Apple big screen TV/iMac ... at an amazing price of $2499.

Is there an award or something we can give to European guy?? This is definitely more fun than I've had reading a rumor thread in a very long time.

    Bravo, European guy! Good riddles!!

Not that I would mind but isn't this way too much to announce at a single event like Macworld?

that's why they are calling it as

"First 30 years were just beginning!"

"My next of keen will trail me soon

He'll will float around you , not zoom."

Now I'm no poet, and I know it...but it seems clear to me that 4 is related to 3. If next of keen/kin is a new iMac then the new design of said item is what will float not zoom. Plus, the man from Portugal spoke of both mind-blowing and no-idea having when referring to 3, the new iMac.

So, um, floating....er, what does that mean? Hmm, could it be...? Why, yes! By george, I've got it!

Clearly, Apple is a forward thinking company...we all know that. They've got Al Gore on their board, that's how forward thinking are!

And Al Gore recently talked about global warming and how the first signs started thirty years ago. "The first thirty years were just the beginning. Welcome to 2007," says Apple.

And just yesterday I read that 2007 will be the hottest year on record and....OH MY GOD....the polar ice caps are going to melt and we'll all be flotsam and jetsam!

EXCEPT, Apple has made a new iMac that will ACT AS A FLOTATION DEVICE and SAVE THE WORLD! Thank you, Apple! Thank you.

But, will I still be able to get email?

    The little bird swiftly flew

To his nest, away from view.

Before he rests, this much is due,

To lift the weight from all our chests

"If I am new. and follow my kin,

And I float for your new view...

    I wonder how difficult

    Would be to satisfy you.

I've been around for so long , you see,

I knew not, you would forget me.

Maybe HE was right, and my demise

was cast in stone before the light."

New handheld. Newton = kin, demise, etc.

Mini OS X. This is video iPod. Inkwell. Palm killer (as if Palm needed someone to do that). The good Pocket PC handhelds are gone (HP and Dell both stopped development on their high-end) and Apple will sneak in a product above the smartphone but below the tablet - roughly the space the Newton previously held.

Yup, that's kind of what I was getting at earlier. It would have to be an add-on to the Mac though, not a fully stand alone device like the Newton was. Gotta sell those Macs.
  • Reply 114 of 377
It would be a stand-alone, but would pull all of your synced .mac data and would have other ties to the desktop. Basically it works better if you have a Mac, but can work with a PC syncing through iTunes? Something...

Of course, I'm old enough to know of the neverending tradition of pre-expo Newton rumors.

What's more, I actually played with a prototype Newton about a month or three before it was introduced. It was very exciting.

Deep asleep, the bird now lies

he mumbles words, open your eyes...

"I lay flat under the apple tree.

and it falls, but not on me.

I eat the apple cause I'm a gluton

    Believe you me.

    I am no Newton."

    Birdy, birdy in the snow

His wing was broken he could not go

First I coaxed him with a piece of bread

Then I stomped in his friggin head

    3D, wearable displays?

And I say this because 3D is supposed to become the savior of the commercial movie theater. Movies will be shot in stereo-video and only the theaters will have the ability to show them in their glory.

Yes, Hollywood is working on this, and is rather far along.
