    We don't plan on shutting the forums. However, despite the numerous hardware upgrades that were made over the past few months, I'm sure it will still be slow.

    There's always the appleinsider chat room on iChat/AIM. It invariably starts up every keynote.

    one thing to point out is that AI's timeout is at 30 minutes... the default vbulletin timeout is 15 minutes. so it inflates the numbers a little. the timeout might have been lower during the previous record.
