Trouble with Safari

So here's the short of it. Troubles I've been having with Safari have led me to try to uninstall and reinstall the application. However, when I try to install it I get the message "you cannot install this software on this volume" when I select the harddrive. I'm running Mac 10.3.9 and was running Safari 1.3.2. I've even tried installing v.1.3.1 and just v.1. I get the same error no matter what I try, so now I'm stuck with no Safari period. Please somebody help!

It may be that you need to remove the Safari.pkg receipt in /library/receipts.

If that doesn't work, you can use Pacifist as an alternative installer:

Thanks for the help Marvin, however I was surprised this morning to find Safari in my applications folder this morning when I woke up. Don't know how, don't know why. It was gone last night. Completely gone. But now it's back so I don't know what to say. Thanks for the help anyway.
