Anyone else catch this article? What a freakin crock. As an Apple stockholder, I am pissed.

I think that is a lot of BS. Apple would not lead customers on just to get sales. Apple has had a bad track record of shipping stuff in the past so they would not say one thing and intentionally mean something else.

I think it is just a slow day for Think Secret...

That was a pretty well researched article by Thinksecret. It further proves why they are currently the top rumor site. The original Powerbook G4 was also delayed a long time.

If Apple did in fact know that the computers were not going to be able to ship in February they are opening themselves up to lots of shareholder lawsuits. I cannot image why they would be so stupid especially right now with all the corporate accountability stuff. People would have ordered any way, why not announce the right time of arrival. This shows that Apple as a whole has way to much ego.

Seems to me that a company so dead set on "Not" using MacWorlds to release new hardware, sure seems liked they rushed into this one just to show off new hardware.

Well sure but I honestly think if Apple knew they would would not be shipping for a while they would have stated as such

Doesn't the 17" PowerBook belong under FUTURE Hardware?

What? No I think you're mistaken. What arguement would you use in court. Roy Black couldn't win this case. Announcement like this aren't legally binding. You'd have to prove you incurred significant damages but even that would be a stretch.

I'm inclined to believer Jared on this one. Slow day at TS

Im mostly annoyed at the fact that Im going to have to pay interest (purchased with credit card) on a computer that I might not be getting for another six weeks (plus an additional two weeks because I live in Korea). I hope it stays a flagship product for more than a few weeks !

If your credit card was charged for a product that has not shipped yet, then something is wrong. Contact Apple or, better yet, contact your credit card company.

Where did you read the original PBG4's were delayed a long time? They were announced 09-JAN-2001. I picked mine up on 17-FEB-2001 at CompUSA. That's barely a month after original announcement.

Of course, I wish I knew about Rev. A-itis. This was my first Mac.

I don't see why any of this is news! When I ordered mine 1/8 I was told on or before 3/21. Nothing has changed. Nothing John Brandon said was any different than anything Apple has told me from day one. And when the shipping does start, it is perfectly reasonable to assume that they are not going to have a unit for each person who has placed an order. So it may, in fact, easily go into April.

If we are looking for a battle, this is not what should start it. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" />

Agreed ... think secret has gone from interesting articles and accurate predictions to rediculous guessing (iTablet) to trash reporting (secretly taped meeting)

MOSR never even stooped this low.

Is your PowerBook the 12 inch model? Because I don't think anyone had received their 17 inch model yet!

I still think it's shady...if I was ordering something small from a vendor, that did this, I would never order from them again....to say this about apple would be like going to hell. (Implying that I would buy a PC...Dell etc...)
