1.) Who do you think will be the dominant figure? Will the new generation want OSX, or Vista?

2.) Do you think Apple will finally take a domination on the PC market?

3.) Do you think everyone will have an Apple phone?

4.) Where Will Microsoft be?

I think you have picked the wrong word. I would have said prevalent, and in that case, then Vista.

Dominant – I think now and five years from now, its OS X. The term dominant means more in control or that is the zenith – and it seems to me that Vista is moving toward what OS X offers and not the other way around. Given that, OS X is more “in control’ at the moment of the future direction of the GUI – and unless Apple really screws the pooch it will continue to be so in five years.

    (1) Do you mean new generation as in new generation of Computer Users?

    No.

I believe Apple (and MacOS X) keeps playing a niche player actually.

Granted they keep the wheel spinning, but it remains all the same status

quo as you find now. Unfortuantely they lost the healthy critical mass of customers

in the early to mid 90s. Granted they are the leader in OS technology, they are at

least 3-5 years ahead compared to their customers, but do they dominate the

    market right now?

Even if they double or tripple the pace of growth compared to their

competitors the state remains nearly the same. It is a nice catch 22 situation.

Far away from being a dominat figure as you proposed.

By the way, personally i have no problem being invested into a niche player.

    I like it.
