can i install windows instead of the OS system on the ibook G4 or the only way is to install the windows "emulator" on the os system?

You have to use Virtual PC to install Windows on a G3/G4/G5 machine. That is emulation.

You can only run Windows natively (=boot into Windows) on a Mac with Intel processor, i.e. every Mac model produced
after
January 2006!

If you do use virtual PC be sure and choose windows 2000 as it will running much better than XP. I am on PPC iMac G5 and run both win 2000 and XP and find win 2000 faster and more usable.

You have to use Virtual PC to install Windows on a G3/G4/G5 machine. That is emulation.
