Tabbing for buttons does not work

Hey there,

It seems that tabbing between buttons, say in any of the Preferences window in Tiger, does not cause the focus to move across buttons, rather than other widgets on the screen.

For instance, in the case of Desktop and Screen Saver, I can only tab between the Search box and the list of Desktop images, not the other buttons on the screen.

I have also found that with google.com. I type in a search, and I am not able to tab to "Search Now", or "Feeling Lucky".

What could the problem be? I have an 20" Intel iMac.

Regards,

Nius.

First problem: go to System Preferences>Keyboard and under the Keyboard Shortcuts tab, check out the options at the bottom for Full Keyboard Access

Second Problem: In Safari, go Safari>Preferences, then in the Advanced tab, enable the second option "Press tab to highlight..."

    Thank you very much.

    I appreciate that. Incredibly speedy.

Both solutions worked. The interesting thing is that I did not need to change the defaults with my two year old iBook.

And I needed to reboot after changing the keyboard settings.

I am also glad to see that this question did not leave a trail of destruction as did my other one:
