wow, did everyone know about this feature in itunes except me?

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
i had itunes open and decided i would try to type the name of the artist i wanted to listen to. there was no visual feedback that it was doing anything but when i hit enter it played the first song in the library from that artist (guster, in this case). tried it with a few more and it works flawlessly. i did not know that.

    I'm assuming artist is the first column in your iTunes library...and it's probably sorted. That works in the Finder and a few other apps too--not the playing part...but...you know...

    anywhere when i'm in list mode.



    i know the finder has that feature as well but it gives visual feedback on the finder.
