i'm about to buy my first mac and have been thinking about a refurbished MacBook - 2Ghz, 1GB ram, 60gb memory or something like that. would like to have more but i'm poor.

any thoughts on how the release of jaguar could affect this? in the past, have prices dropped on their current line, should i just wait for refurbished macs to come out with the jaguar software? could the release of jaguar also accompany the release of new configurations, new macbooks, etc.

i'd appreciate any thoughts.

It's Leopard not Jaguar. System softwware release shouldn't affect the hardware pricing. I doubt you'll see a change in the refurb prices of Macbooks until new ones are released and that could be a while. The Macbook you describe would be a good start. I would get a Core 2 Macbook (refurb) if I could swing it financially.
