Max resolution? 30 Inch display & MacMini

I just bought a new Mac Mini. Here are the specs.

1.83 Intel Core Duo

2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM-2x1GB

160GB Serial ATA drive

Mac OS X

I also bought a brand new Apple 30 inch display, but it won't let me adjust the resolution past 1280x800.

I was under the impression that the Mac Mini supported up to 1920x1600. Is this not the case??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly not. It should support up to 1920 by 1200, but you need a Dual-Link DVI capable card to run the 30" displays. The mini can only run the 20" and 23" displays.

    Sorry

It does, but the resolution of the 30" is much higher than that.

The Mac mini can output 1920x1200, but the 30" can only support 1280x800 on a standard DVI port.

Take it back and get a 23" one. It should be big enough and it supports HD resolution of 1920x1200. It says in the spec sheets for the macbook and Mini that they only support up to a 23". The 23" is half the price of the 30" too. Think what you can get with the money you save.
