My iMac won't start-up after installing 10.4.9 update

I have an iMac Intel Dual-core processor 1.83ghz I recently installed the 10.4.9 update after I installed the update I rebooted my machine and now my machine won't startup it goes as far as loading the apple logo with loading spindle. I've shut off my machine several times, I've tried to force mac os x to startup by holding down x, I've tried booting from the cd, I've PRAM'ed it and still nothing.

PLEASE IN DIRE NEED OF HELP!
