Centipede has been updated by Infogrames so that you are playing in a wild, 3D environment, hovering over the gameplay like many current 3rd-person-view games. There are fun new twists to the the game, and the opening 3D animations are neat.
The best thing about this release is that they include the classic(late 70s) and updated classic (80s) versions of the game.

Try aperion, a centipede clone from ambrosia. It's been around several years, but still a solid game.
