Now that Apple HW is capable of running other operating systems, is it possible that Apple might be forced to refund the cost of OSX to people who want to run something else?
You've been able to run other OSes for a while. Yellow Dog Linix used to sell Apple computers with Linux preinstalled. But to answer your question, no. Apple wont. IMO
While Dell, HP/Compaq, etc. have to pay for licensed copies of Windows from Microsoft, Apple could technically say that the cost of Mac OS X on new machines is $0 since it is their OS.
So no, I don't think Apple is going to be forced to 'refund' the cost of Mac OS X.
