QuickTime Broadcaster

Just announced: Apple will be releasing a new piece of software called QT Broadcaster. I was wondering why Sorensen stopped developing Sorensen Broadcaster. This must be the reason. It's free. It should be great. Free, real-time streaming MPEG-4. Drool.

They just have to clear up the licensing issues...

Will it run on OSX?? The last time I checked the QT docs, the broadcasting API was only supported on OS9.x.

I have a QuickTime Streaming server running on the X Client OS, not Server!

Works, excellent, works fine, love it, except, well, my internet does not always want to cooperate

Absolutely. There is an Aqua interface. That should mean it's and OS X app.

Did Apple build this from the ground up OR did they acquire Sorenson's Broadcaster. If it based on MPEG-4 broadcasting, are they using their own implementation of MPEG-4 or Sorenson. Sorenson has been quiet.
