Stopping the shutdown/restart process.

Is there any way to do this?

    You mean if you tell your computer to shutdown or restart and then you realize you don't want to do that?

    One way is to get it to go to sleep before it shuts down.

    It raises interesting questions... like, would you want to? I suppose you could... on linux, which is architecturally similar to OSX, there's a process called killall that starts offing processes. If you typed in at lightspeed, ps -e | grep kill and killed the corresponding number, then maybe.you'd also have to do the equivalent of switching to runlevel 5 (or anything other than 6, the shutdown runlevel).



    Theoretically possible, but not technically.

    There is definitely a way to stop the Shut Down/Restart process. Reach around to the back of your Mac and pull the plug!
