Hello everyone... I'll be getting my new iBook at the end of this month and starting to collect the software I want. I'm not a huge game player but do enjoy playing on my PC every now and then. Cutting to the chase, what are some of the X compatiable games that I should have. (I wont be running 9 out side of back up in case of an X crash) So what games have an OSX patch or work with it? Is there a website that I could find this on? What kind of games are you running?

Thanks for your input

Considering that you are getting a laptop, remember you are a bit more limited. Try Age of Empires 2. I run it on my laptop all the time on trips, and it makes the plane ride fly by.

Yeah I wont be running to high at all. I have a PC for shooting games. I was thinking about The Sims, Black and white, Spiderman looked really fun! I dont know. Any chance of getting Quake or UunrealT to run at an acceptable FPS?

And don't forget Starcraft! It's a bit old, but still addictive as ever.

And it runs better in OS X than it did in OS 9 Now, for diablo II.

Civ3 and black and white are what i've been playing lately ... Also, Giants: Citazen Kabuto is really really fun. All run just fine under OSX, even on my 'lowly' G4 cube ...

Anyone play that Red Faction (I think that's what it's called) FPS game yet? I heard the graphics are pretty sweet and that it does the genre proud, if not totally original in concept. I'd like a good shooter game for OS X. Tired of using betas of UTX / having classic stuff installed, etc.

I'm not much of a gamer but since I've gotten my 867 g4 and can actually play games now I've bought 3 games:

Alien v. Predator - Awesome! Highly recommend. Can't wait for AvP 2

Giants: Citizen Kabuto - Great game but since I upgraded to 10.1.3 my mouse movement in the game is so slow that it's unplayable. Even with the latest build.

Sacrifice - Not a bad game but under osx it's too slow and the mouse is jumpy and unpredictable so it makes gameplay frustrating.

hey, anyone remember the old x-files game from maybe 4 years ago? it came on 7 cd's, and it was really cool. it wasnt a fast pace shoot-em-up, but required good reflex, quick thinking, and one's powers of deduction. of course, being an x-files fan didnt hurt. are there any other similar games out there like that? i really liked that style of game.

(if anyone is an x-files fan and always wanted to live the show, play this game, it will make you feel like you are in the x-files!)

If you like racing games, get 4x4 Evo 2. The graphics are pretty good.

in regards to Red Faction, cool game, but no radically new game play. The Geo-mod is blown out of proportion, but interesting. The story and graphics are solid too. If you enjoy FPS, then snatch it up.
