Netscape 6.2.2

The first improvements I notice is that I can close windows from the keyboard. Scrolling is better as well. But why is it based on Mozilla 0.9.4 instead of the newer builds like 0.9.9? Is it down to testing or stability? Anywais, a worthy update

I have also found it to be an improvement over 6.2.1. Seems more stable.

Back when the were preparing NS 6.2.2, they "forked" stable bits of code from the various other branches and worked to clean up everything to work well together. Meanwhile, the Moz developers were still advancing their branch to 0.9.9, but they couldn't just toss in the new code at the last minute and assume it would work. At a later point, the Moz code will be branched again and reinserted into NS, but the Moz developers will keep working separately to advance to 1.x.

It's a little more complicated than that, but there's the basics for ya'.

Man, netscape uses spyware to monitor what you've searched for on the search option within the browser....just don't use it!!! <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

It's not that it's worse, its just that you're wrong. The difference between an app using a plugin, extension, app, etc to spy on users and the application itself spying on users is huge.

just downloaded and started using 6.2.2....really like it...pretty, yet understated....and seems very fast so far....will use instead of IE....waiting for chimera to get further developed before trying that...but so far i would very much recommend netscape 6.2.2 with os X (and i had really moved away from netscape)....just my thoughts, but it seems faster and looks better (text and images) than IE....g

Netscape 6.2.2 is still incredibly slow on my G4. The only reason I use it is to access newsgroups.
