introducing 3rd party hard drive to mac book pro??
i'm looking to upgrade to a mac book pro.
ideally i would buy the 15" w/ a 7200 HD, but Apple doesn't offer that.
is it a bad idea to buy a 3rd party, 7200 rpm HD and put it into this computer?
i've heard doing this could void my warranty unless i have a certified mac technician do it, but even then, might be sketchy.
is this true?
would it be bad for the computer?
thanks for any input!

I don't think your MBP will have any problems running a 7200 ~ HD but ...the hard part in trying to replace the HD yourself is the damper on the disk to keep it cool. I think you need someone to do that. I'd like to switch out my 7200 ~ 100 gigger HD to a seagate 7200 ~ 160 gigger HD myself, so, I'm wondering it Apple will switch to a new HD that I provide?
