The only thing I would ask for is faster ripping times (I can only peak at 5.3x and average at 3.7x) and a customizable graphical spectrum analyzer (display) instead of the monochrome one. Ok, while you're at it, throw in more (and better) visualization plug-ins!
I guess my only 5 (minor) complaints about the iTunes interface are:
- The Browse button should stay selected (darkened) while you are browsing, and unselect when you aren't browsing.
- The track number of the song (if there is one) should be displayed in the status pane.
- Better visual plugins that seem to go with the music better.
- Get rid of the horizontal line under "Equalizer" in the equalizer window.
- Ability to drag playlists to the Trash to delete them.
Its so annoying to have to drag each track to trash then get a popup warning you "Some of the selected files are located in your music library folder, would you like to move these files to the trash?".
When ripping and burning a CD,does anyone know how to create a new playlist for burning and then trash it when finished without all the tracks appearing in the Library folder and having to trash each track individually from library?
I totally agree that you should be able to drag playlists to the trash easily.

Can't you just delete a playlist by chosing it on the side and pressing delete

Thanx for the shortcut!

Hierarchical playlists...

What you described, torifile, is... er... WAS a feature of SoundJam before Apple neutered it so badly into iTunes.
I really miss folders in the playlists.
I also miss the streaming ability in SoundJam.
Apple, why did you kill all of SoundJam's great features?!?!
that's annoying!
What I'd like to see is an option for ripping a CD and creating a playlist of its contents with the same name as the CD. I suppose this is probably Applesciptable, but a simple one-click button for this would be great.
it halts until the CD mounts
it halts until the CD mounts

iTunes is bruched aluminum because it is a media player, like QuickTime and DVD players. I like that, and I think that should stay. It's a good way to distinguish between normal apps and media players.
