Apple claimed Screen Sharing for iChat, not just iChat Theatre

This is to set the record straight once and for all (hopefully). Reading the various threads, it seems that not everyone is aware that Apple once advertised a Screen Sharing feature in iChat that allowed two people from choosing whose screen to share to collaborate on documents, web-purchasing, etc.

This is different than iChat Theatre, that so far only projects the contents of one screen to another (doesn't share control of the screen as far as I can tell).

I am not saying that the final version of iChat won't have both features (both would be phenomenal additions to the Mac experience), I am just trying to set peoples' expectations on the app and what was previously advertised.

Thanks to AI user gck who found this link on the UK Apple Store page with the previously planned features advertised:

Presently the screen sharing features are in Leopard ...they're just in the Finder. So I think the final shipping iChat will indeed have this feature.

I don't care where I have to go...I just want the feature.

Murch, that looks to be across networked computers, which is quite a bit more complicated that initiating an iChat session.

The iChat implementation looked to be "Remote Desktop for the rest of us."
