Other than that, or plugging it in to one machine and using file sharing, there's no way. Plugging, for instance, a USB/FireWire hard drive into two machines at once is a big no-no.
I already have a linksys wireless router, but the only thing that comes to my mind is to plug it in tp my PC and make it share, so that i can have access from my mac.

i was planning to do this when i get an imac. plug everything into the imac and set up a wireless network so my powerbook can tap into this mini network when needed
