No..Adobe can take a flying leap. FCP all the way. I do like Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign though.

Absolutely no! It's a horrible app. The last version I used full-time was Premiere 4.2. Final Cut Pro is definitely better.

Is Premiere Adobe's video editing thing? If so, then what is After Effects? And what, if anything, does Apple have that's comparable?

Most of you Final Cut Pro people, I take it?

Premiere is like Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer/Xpress. Doing video footage editing. Of course Premiere is way way behind them

After Effects, like Combustion, is doing compositing.

By the way. I was talking to the Adobe rep when I was attending the Driven by Design seminar. He told me they are now currently working on Premiere 7. I was pretending I only use Premire and he believed me. I am a good actor

Personally, in terms of editing, FCP is nice... but I'm getting all tingly with anticipation over Avid's new DVExpress software coming out within the next few months. It will run on OS X

FCP and Premier are used to layout the movie and edit everything.

After Effects is used to do special effects (compositing is the big one)

FCP is actually more like a cross between Premiere and After Effects because it can also do much of what After Effects can.

With the recent purchases Apple has made it looks as if they will eventually have an After Effects destroyer as well
