Why go thru all that effort when they can just plug it into Media Player or Real Player?</strong><hr></blockquote>

Answer: auto synchronization of the music libraries, equalizers, etc. True plug-n-play type stuff that you'd have to do manually otherwise. If you're going to sell the iPod to Windows users (BTW, I'm not a huge fan of this idea because I think the iPod loses its appeal as a compelling reason to switch) you want the full iPod experience, half of which depends on iTunes, and is much more compelling than the iPod's physical characteristics alone.

[quote]Sorry, but giving windows these things is a bad idea, THESE are the reasons why a Mac is so much better<hr></blockquote> If apple doesn't write a version for windows. There might be some mac user that is forced to use windows at work that'll write a skin/plugin combo when winamp3 is final. Although it'd have to be underground since apple's lawyers would 'fly off the handle'.
