Is it safe to buy a Mac a year before college?

I want to buy a mac for the digital arts including image editing, animation, web design, and video editing. I'm not sure where I want to go but is there a chance I could buy a Mac (which seems to be the industry standard used by professionals) and then the college I go to require something else?

    No.



    And if for whatever reason you need Windows you can install that on your Mac too. Keep is mind the course you mentioned may even be Mac only.
