I am still stuck using Neo, does anyone use anything better? I really don't like the Gnutella services like limewire, the last decent service was audio galaxy.

If I were using a Mac running OSX (I'm not), I'd peep the eDonkey2000 command-line client for OSX.

While you may cringe at the thought of using the command line to steal from musicians, it's your best bet for rampant piracy at this moment. You get used to it as well. I use a CL irc client (BitchX), and while it was annoying and unintuitive at first, it is now only fractionally as annoying and unintuitive.

Check out OpenNap clients too. I believe there is one for OSX (GUI). Search in google.

Acquisition is a cocoa front end to the cli gnutella client gnut. It has greatly matured over the last 9 months, however I'd consider broadband a must for a reliable connection to any gnutella network.

Yeah, and I usually give Gnutella about 10 mins to 'settle' in to the network (find viable hosts etc).

Direct Connect is a viable solution. It's a combination of Napster/Scour and IRC. <a href="http://www.neo-modus.com"; target="_blank">www.neo-modus.com</a> It's only written in VB so it only runs on PCs, but the developer has created a new code base that is in C or C++ ( thank god he got rid of the VB code base which is pretty buggy ) and the first GUI client is coming to OSX, then Linux/BeOS, and then Windows. It's coming in October I believe. Something to look forward to. IRC is the other alternative.
