Does any one know when Quark Inc. is going to release an OSX version of this software or at least a carbon of it? Thanks. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
You think with a product as big as QuarkXpress they would have had a Carbon of it made already!! <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />
There was a brief window where Quark could have converted me as I had to upgrade from the now-abandoned Pagemaker.
I figured if I had to switch programs and learn a new one, why not switch to the Industry Standard?
Both upgrades/crossgrades were about the same price. It came down to the fact that when I upgrade, I tend to stick with the program for a long time. And Quark 5 has no future on the Mac. None. Mac OS X hits my hard drive in Sept.
Quark simply missed its window of opportunity, for me and a million others. Long Live InDesign!
Problem is, Quark has some huge installations out there with newspapers, magazines etc., not to mention a lot of specialized extensions. I'm afraid many customers will move to Wintels instead, if Quark doesn't deliver an OS X version soon

Well. If they are moving to Windows all those Xpress Xtensions will not work and they will have to buy the windows version.
So the cost is pretty much the same...or even higher
I could be completely wrong here, which wouldn't be surprising, but I seem to remember some honcho of Quark saying at Quark 5 launch that they weren't supporting X natively until the next VERSION.
In Quark terms that would be 3+ years - but I would assume Quark can read the writing on the wall much better than that...
What did Quark do for all those years? Thats my question....

How soon is soon, I don't know.
How crude this beta is, I don't know.
Whether the beta will be released to the public like the QX5 beta, I don't know.
