    They need to make the toolbars able to be smaller. The one thing that I like about IE for windows is that the newer versions 5.0+ all have the toolbars that can be organized easily to have a low footprint on the window. And the parts that are cut off have the drop down. This is my one beef with other browsers, but I still use mozilla most of the time.

    Buggy as hell.

    I can't use it for 5 minutes before it "unexpectedly quits" on me. Yes, I've cleared my preferences and reinstalled fresh copies. It still goes down quicker than a five dollar hooker.

    It's a shame, really, as it has such great potential. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    Not as stable, but this is not an "official" 0.4.0 release. So maybe the official one will be better. I noticed that they have been adding more items to the prefferences lately, which is good.

    Actually, G4Dude, version 0.4.0 is the official version now. It's official as of today and was put on VersionTracker soon after the announcement.

    So far, the official 0.4 release of Chimera/Navigator has been rock solid on my system. I've been using Chimera as my main browser for several months now (since 0.2.7). Both IE and OW (paid-for) have been relegated to "backup browser" status.

    Anybody know where starfleetX's "Chimera 0.x.x perpetual thread" went? The search can't seem to turn it up.

    How about as small as the text-only one, but with a couple of selective smal icons, and the addressbar though? They don't need THAT much border around the address bar so that it doesn't fit into that smaller space.

    From the Chimera page:

    New features include:

    * Now using ~/Library/Application Support for profile, not ~/.mozilla

    * Downloading when clicking a link works and shows progress

    * Much greater stability

    * Many, many bugfixes

    Bookmarks are in a file called "bookmarks.xml" which is a few levels deeper in each of the two preferences folders/directories mentioned above. Personally, I copied over my bookmarks from the old location to the new one manually, but didn't bother with the cookies and other user files.

    Then why don't you click the pill shaped button on the window bar and just use keyboard shortcuts...

    But the old bookmarks are stored as a .xml file. The new ones are, i think, html. When I copyed the old bookmarks.xml file to the new ~/Library/Mozilla/whatever location, they dont show up in 0.4.0.

    Also, they're also .RDF files in the same folders as the bookmarks. They must have their own built in RDF generators!

    Am I the only one getting an "Error" when trying to import IE Favorites...? It tells me that it's the wrong format, or some other silly nonsense.

    Wait... let me try it again...

    Error Importing Bookmarks.

    The bookmarks file could not be imported, because its contents don?t conform to the expected format.

    That is what it ACTUALLY says.

    Ok, I've started using chimera, but the big question is: can I block ads with it? If I can and speed of entering text improves, OW has got some competition.
