I ordered a 20" iMac on August 7 with a wireless keyboard and was told to expect a 3 to 5 week delay so I am still awaiting delivery. Now, when I check my order, the product name reads "IMAC 24/SD" with a part number that reads "Z0E4".

Am I getting a 24" iMac for the price of a 20" model? Has anyone else noticed this?

    Hi guys, first post.

I just ordered a 17" Macbook Pro on Thursday (first ever Mac!) and the guy at the Mac shop told me that there are huge delays in shipping times because of demand. He said the main problem was that Apple don't have enough LCD screens to keep up with demand for the 15" Macbook Pros and iMacs. As an example, (I'm not exactly sure if this is correct) he looked at order and shipping data for the 15" MBP and said that over 2000 15" MBPs had been ordered by Australian customers and that only 62 were arriving that day.

iBrad, I suspect that because it's been over 5 weeks, they've given you a free screen size upgrade, because I was told that if orders took longer than 6 weeks that they can do it to try and get the order to you ASAP because they have so many others. I had to go with a 17" MBP because I couldn't see myself waiting 5 or 6+ weeks for it.

Thanks for the comments--looks like I'm getting the upgrade. I won't find out 'till some time between Sep 12 and Sep 18, but I'll let you know. If you can wait, it may go to show that it pays to buy whatever leads to the longest estimated ship times!
