iPhone WiFi Music Store icon
Anyone noticed that briefly, in the keynote, Steve indicated the position of the iTunesWiFi store icon in the last position of the iphone screen - probably hinting at three other applications to come before that iwf store becomes available ? Any guesses about what those three would be ?
also I wonder why such positions are fixed ? Does Apple expect people to select an application with a rough idea of where the icon would be ?

Either that or the other thing that popped into my head was maybe that's how iPhone sorts the apps on the home screen.
Example:
Top Row - Left to Right
Second Row - Right to Left
Third Row - Left to Right
Bottom Row - Right to Left
Both are strong possibilities. We shall see.

1. Games icon, press it and pick one from the list of iPhone games you downloaded.
2. iChat, cause we need it.
3. Search. Global spotlight is needed on the iPhone.
Also, they need to put all the widgets into one place, under a dashboard icon on the iPhone's home-screen (this will clear up even more space), and add in a few more widgets to the iPhone's dashboard like dictionary, a unit converter, and a language translator.
Still can't believe the iPhone has no dictionary app.
iChat is the one thing I'm looking foward too. And hopefully they'll make this camera have "video" capabilities.
I would love video capture, and to think it's just a software update away.
Come on Apple. I'm so glad I resisted every urge to buy an iPhone at launch. I'm loving the price drop.
It really needs to be a built in app with special commands too. Like a four finger touch locks the current desktop screen so it can be interacted with in a much better way.
Bluetooth device access to photos (and videos ?) as a folder may also be a possibility if they are stuck on their draconian - WILL NOT OPEN OUT THE SDK - nonsense.

Web = dictionary.
Built-in dictionary would be wasted space IMO.

No, web doesn't = dictionary. If that was the case then OS X wouldn't have a dictionary app. A dictionary app would be no waste of space.
Every iPhone has net access, by definition.
Not every Mac has net access. (I know, shock.)

Not true. What about in the tunnel? Or in a building with no phone access? Or in a plane?

The dictionary is built into Mac OS X for instantaneous look-up and integration (i.e. for Dashboard and for Control+Apple+D). The web is a perfectly suitable dictionary:
1) Dictionary.com
2) m-w.com
3) Google

Which is less than 1% of the time.

I do not like green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.
A converter widget.
ichat.
video.
back to my mac capability when connected via wifi.
Actually I think the widgets should in their own little thing next to settings and real applications use those 14 spots. Like a gesture application, you hit that, draw your own little programmed symbol, and something happens. Shortcuts via drawing.
Anyway.

Kind of like this? I made it up three weeks ago.

For you. Not for many many people who have to take the train to work or what not. For me, EDGE is not available everywhere I go. Its also slow. Even 3G is too slow for many things. I was at Church today using an online bible. By the time I got to a verse, it was too late. Same with dictionary.

That would be nice but I think we should keep the stock icons as well...
