so they called me back for my 2nd interview at the apple store

does anyone know what this is all about? usually with my past jobs i got hired after the 1st and they just basically called me back to talk about my hours and stuff, so is this what the 2nd interview is about??

also, im a little worried about this interview because, well i have some bad problems with my past, more than a year ago i was in high school and i had some bad friends that i shouldnt ever hung out with, long story short my friend stole stuff from his work when he came in after his shifts i happened to be with him and he got arrested, and so did i as an accessory.

ive never done a single thing wrong and the judge knew this, but i was slapped with a minor misdemeanor and given 2 years probation (normally its 4 years and time in jail) but he knew i was a good kid and let me off easy as long as i stay good (which i have no problem doing), but i do have a misdemeanor on my record, the judge told me he gave me this because now i know who i should and shouldnt be friends with and this should be a lesson learned, which it was haha, but im a little scared on apples ethics, do they worry much and wil they even ask me this? because most jobs ask for felonies etc, so im stressing a little bit, i have a good background too such as a pre-med student in college with a 3.6gpa and no trouble before the act, since the act, and wont ever happen again...should i be worried?

Uh, how would they know...unless you're stupid enough to, I don't know, post the info on an Apple Centric website that we know Apple employees read? \

well i decided im just not gonna tell them, and if they ask if ive been in trouble ill say no, because a felony is what my lawyer said should be the only thing they will look for and a misdemeanor is irrelevant and shouldnt matter?

Frankly, I wouldn't want you working for me with a criminal record either.

    Consequences....

If they ask, then tell them what you told us. If they ask, then they're going to look it up to confirm your testimony. If you say no and they find the truth, then you are done with extreme prejudice. Personally, I'd examine your record since the event, look at all the good deeds that you've done, and try to determine if you really are following the old straight and narrow.

Honesty is not only the best policy, it's the easiest. You'll sleep better, too.

but can they even look up a misdemeanor, because my dad is an entrepreneur and he owns a lot of businesses and doesnt check anything below a felony, and he said most companies wont. he said they prolly wont check at all unless ur somehow being investigated while working there, then theyll pull ur background and boot you if youre not being good

and ya ive never done a single thing wrong in my life, well not to that extent, i just happened to be with the wrong person at the wrong time and got messed up for it, it still doesnt mean i myself did anything wrong

Honesty is the best policy. If they ask you only about felonies then answer only about felonies. You might not have to worry about it in pre-med but others that require clearances with poly's and background checks should always be honest.

how does the process even work?

i understand at the 2nd interview is when they ask you all the personality questions and stuff, then they send u a background info thing asking u these questions, im just curious if that even asks about misdemeanors...ugh this is frustrating me

also....im not trying to be a manager or even a cashier..just a mac specialist on the floor, i really dont think a criminal check is entitled, i was at apples website and found this:

Lastly, you should know that Apple performs a background check on applicants after the final stage of interviewing. The check includes submitting references and other information on your application (signature block), and authorized by a document that you sign (and which describes your rights). Your references may not be contacted, but it's clear that Apple does check credit histories and some type of criminal history check. California law allows private companies with their own security force to access the state's criminal history computer system, so background checks will include any history of arrests and criminal convictions if they are made (not all positions are screened for criminal histories).

Hi there, I have been through a 2nd interview with Apple. The first was a group interview session at the Kingston store in the UK. Second interview was one-on-one with two managers. They asked detailed stuff about how to approach customers, advantages of Mac over PC, how long I have been using a Mac, etc.

My advice is this. Stay calm and cool. If it is meant to be, you'll get the job. If not, explore other opportunities and remember using Apple stuff can be a lot more fun than selling and supporting Apple stuff.

As for criminal records, if they ask, explain your side of the story, if you lie they could check anyway and then your boned. Whether Apple checks or not is one thing, I imagine such a big retail presence they're one click away from anyone's background check.

Good luck. Remember, retail is fun and meaningful if you like it but in the longer term you have your main career to think about.

Kiss this job goodbye.Apple looks up everything from a credit report to any criminal acts you were involved in.They are very strict with this information.

As I see it, this guy was being interviewed for this job in 2007, so he either got the job and already moved on to his medical career, or was turned down 4 years ago and got a different job.
