in Current Mac Hardware edited January 2014
I'm doing a little reconfiguring of my desk, in anticipation of a new iMac purchase.

Can someone with the new metal iMac provide me with the following measurements?:

1. from desk to bottom of viewable screen

2. from bottom of viewable screen to top of viewable screen

Thanks!

    I think if you hunt around the Apple site you should be able to find the dimensions in the spec's somewhere.

    Yes, I did find the dimensions, but that was for the entire monitor. I am adding a second monitor, and would like to get one that matches the height of the iMac display, so I really need to know where the display is in relation to the desk.

    I still don't think this answers the question(s) he asked:

    Size and weight (20-inch)

    * Height: 18.5 inches (46.9 cm)

    * Width: 19.1 inches (48.5 cm)

    * Depth: 7.4 inches (18.9 cm)

    * Weight: 20 pounds (9.1 kg)4

    Size and weight (24-inch)

    * Height: 20.5 inches (52.0 cm)

    * Width: 22.4 inches (56.9 cm)

    * Depth: 8.1 inches (20.7 cm)

    * Weight: 25.4 pounds (11.5 kg)4

    so I'll ask you the right question and if you give me the right answer, I'll give you the right answer ;P

    Question: which new late 2007 iMac? the 20" or 24" model?

    Look in his signature slot for a clue:

    20" iMac Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz 2GB/250GB/SuperDrive

    3-1GB Shuffles (2G silver, 2G pink (wife's), 2G Blue)

    MacBook - Core Duo (Black) 1GB/80GB/Superdrive

    PENDING: 24" iMac but ONLY AFTER Leopard is introduced

    Ooops. Good point.

    I'd actually like the measurements for the new 20" monitor. I don't have room for the 24 any more.

    It's better to leave us clueless, than to leave us with false clues.

    Wrong answer, I have the 24".

    You get the measurements anyway:

    from table to bottom case: 69mm

    from table to glass panel: 152mm

    from table to screen: 174mm

    from bottom to top screen: 325mm

    from bottom to top glass panel:366mm

    from top screen to top case: 25,5mm

    Some people on this forum ask some odd ass questions, you could have bought a monitor that is height adjustable and saved a lot of trouble.

    Yep. That apparently would have been faster and less contriversial.

    I bought a Samsung SyncMaster 205BW which not only is height adjustable, but it also swivels. 20". For $199 less another 20% at OfficeMax.
