Connectix Virtual Game Station for OS X Patch

Connectix Virtual Game Station, as many of you may remember, is a commercial Sony Playstation emulator which plays many of the PSX games out there. I have a copy, but they've discontinued it due to legal concerns from Sony. I *downloaded* my copy, because its no longer being supported by Connectix. I was searching around and I found a patch that allows the Windows users use this app under the "business OSes" such as Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT. Otherwise this app works ok under Mac OS 9 and under. My question is: since I was able to find a WinXP/2k/NT patch for CVGS is there an OS X patch? Its annoying having to restart each time to OS 9 (I'm in 10 at the moment).

Thanks in advance for all and any information,

No. There is no native OSX patch for CVGS.

    Sorry. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

Somehow, I suspect the patch for Windows was from a third-party, no? Remember, most older Windows binaries work fine on newer versions of Windows and those that don't probably only need a relatively minor hack of code to get it working.

Patching an OS9 app to run natively in OSX, on the other hand, is practically impossible. The original code for the app would have to be rewritten in Carbon or Cocoa and them compiled into a whole new binary. In other words, unless you can get Connectix to release the source code for VGS, don't expect a native OSX version.

Oh and getting Connectix to release the source is hopeless...

<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> You're a funny guy PiO2. Sony sued Connectix and they reached an out of court settlement. The agreement gave Sony the VGS rights and code. So, Connectix is not even the owner of it. Read <a href="http://www.insidemacgames.com/news/story.php?ArticleID=2334"; target="_blank">here</a>.

Are you going to tell them that you pirated a copy of their IP to play pirated copies of their games, too? Go for it. I wanna see what happens.
