xp service pack 2 is free now?

i just went to check if i could get service pack 2 cd so i could use boot camp instead of crossover cause crossover lags like a bitch and when i went to check it was free. the only thing you ahd to pay was shipping. weird?

    The update is free, but Windows XP is not.

    yeah you're right. darnit. i really want xp. i have service pack 1 but bootcamp only takes service pack 2. That's uber ghey.

    I haven't done it, so I have no advice beyond this, but look up slipstreaming. A friend of mine did it to get XP on his Mac. He also only had a disc for SP 1.

    Of course XP SP2 is free. It is a stinking bug fix!
