They already are. And its not because of the terrorists but how we react to them.
"Kids sleeping safely in their beds - Check
Locked the front door - Check
Have the surveilliance camera on - check
Check homelands security - Orange. Hmm. Better have the phone by the bed if they should attack tonight."
"Honey they said in the news that the smog isn´t so severe today so why don´t we drive through Manhatten on our way to work to enjoy the skyline?
I would love to but its orange today. Can´t we choose another day?"
"And now for the HSA forecast. Jenn?
Thanks Bob. Today we had a green day and as you can see on these pictures from central park people took the chance to enjoy the day despite the rain. Tomorrow will be yellow and we are moving into a periode of higher numbers. It will top on thursday with red but the from saturday it should be lovely blue. So you can enjoy a nice weekend outdoor with your kids. Now lets hear it from Alisson. Will the weather also be great in the weekend?..."
It was green for me. I did a quit and restart and it jumped to orange. Tried again and back to green. 3rd time green. 4th orange. Do I head to the bunker or not?
Hey didn't they find a photo of Osama with a Powerbook? Maybe this software is just supposed to confuse the terrorists.
A lot of people on that side of the world use Macs It was funny I was watching some CNN coverage one time and they showed a quick clip inside one of the government offices in like Iraq and they had all iMacs... It was pretty funny.

Can't wait to see Osama in those "Switch" ads.
"Here at Al-Qaeda HQ, we used to spend a fortune updating our Windows PCs to run the latest version of Microsoft Flight Simulator..."

Maybe you got a kernel panic because we're at orange. What's more important to you, anyway? Your safety and the safety of your loved ones or your uptime? Some people and their screwed up priorities
I have been working on a similar app. It's called CheneyPop. It puts a cartoon hole in the menu bar. When the VP is in hiding, the hole is all you see. When he's making public appearences again, his head pops out of the hole.

Please include a hammer and a counter that shows how many times you have hit him.
Thanks for the idea Anders. I have had to scale back some of the original planned features, so the hammer idea may help make it more appealing. Originally I wanted the pull down menu to give the daily readout from his implanted defibrillator, but I guess that's considered classified information.
Oh, and I've seen the Osama switch ad. It's kind of hard to describe, but if you close your eyes and forget about the Saudi accent, you would swear you were listening to a new Ellen Feiss ad.

one good argument for finding non-violent solutions to the iraq problem: microsoft would benefit if we blew up all those mac users!

I love how the User Reviews for this software changed from, well, user reviews to a debate on US Foreign Policy. I felt like I was in AO or FC!

Kids growing up in the 90s were lucky.

I tried installing that menu hack. It worked OK, but I turned it off. Got a kernel panic shortly afterward.

<strong>That would make the "Lemmings" ad look like a success!
