1.From what I have learnt from this thread is that when using Leopard you can access Windows files. But when using XP you can't see the other partion of the harddrive. Unless, you run MacDrive which then allows you to see the Leopard partion of the harddrive.

    2. I am not sure about this.... someone else please comment.

    3. Can't help you with that.... no idea.

Thx Spike. I am only interested in accsessing Windows files from the Mac side so - so far so good. OTOH, I've been spci'ing a Windows system using the same budget as a 2.8 gig, 4 gig memory 500 gig drive would cost and it's pretty brutal in the compare.

OTOH, I hate MSFT but the cost seems dramatically different.

IMHO, an analogy is the difference between a Ford and a Lincoln. Both will get you to the grocery store, but the Lincoln's a dream on long trips. I'll bet you wouldn't even mention the difference in cost if you could afford the Lincoln. In case you might think I've always used a Mac - only 5 years. I've used PC's since the first one came on the market.

I know it is more expensive. But you get a computer that actucally looks nice. And when M$ finally get around to making a new OS, you then have to buy a new computer again cause it can't run some crap that they just made up. (I mean for vista every1 i know had to buy a new computer, just to run some crappy OS.....!!!!

I think 10.4 (Tiger) would only be able to read NTFS formated XP partitions (and write with optional software). If you want to be able to read and write to the XP partition without extra software it needs to be formated as FAT32. I think the same applies to Leopard.

hi, i've been using Win XP x64 edition for like 4 months... and it actually works on my Mac Pro, but, will someone tell me why in my macbookpro, it wont even recognize (won't install 64 driver too) my graphic card or my wireless...?????????? I was dreaming about new OS, new bootcamp, maybe 64bit drivers for winmacers! anyway, 2 things, does the VMware have ram limitation like bootcamp and parallels (2gib/1.5gib)?? i work with 3dsmax and autocad, both cleaming for processor!! but you're nothing with a pair of gigbs of ram. I've heard that 64bit ultimate vista works fine... any opinion?????? Thanks \

Oh, one more thing, with the win xp x64 in bootcamp (like if it wasn't there) you get the real deal, full memory!! I'm using 16gib... and you get good graphics too, in MacPro

I hope some day we all can use only mac....
