What Games Work with 10.2?

I'm finding a few programs not working. Like Starcraft (which I can't even get to run in classic under Jaguar). I was thinking of finally purchasing a new game, but I would actually like to play it. I'm a little worried that even new games that are coming out as we speak might have issues with Jaguar.

I did find that the OS X version of the original Quake worked all right. (Yeah, I'm showing my lack of need for the latest and greatest. I'd show it even more if I told you how I'd waited until both games were on the $10 shelf).

So what are you playing in Jaguar? Much obliged.

Alex.

Starcraft has always run poorly under Classic, but they have had a carbonized version for quite some time now. As far as I know you can use it under 10.2(I have it installed but havent played it since I upgraded). Go to <a href="http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msc0411p"; target="_blank">http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msc0411p</a>; for the OSX update.

Warcraft III also plays well under 10.2 as long as you have the computing power to back it up(on my dad's 800mhz iMac it ran much better under OS9 than OSX, but I was using 10.1.5 at the time).

Besides these games Ambrosia has a number of good carbonized games that run under 10.2. Check them out at <a href="http://www.ambrosiasw.com/news/"; target="_blank">http://www.ambrosiasw.com/news/</a>; . I particularly like Deimos Rising and EV Nova.

Also, just about all games are now carbonized so you might want to check with your local CompUSA or Amazon.com.

    Oni!

Still love that game. Carbonized with release 1.1. The Omni Group version also works, but has some issues.

    Mmmm. Konoko.

Actually, it doesn't (at least on my machine.) When I wrote "which I can't even get to run in classic under Jaguar," I should have bolded the word "even." I tried the classic version after finding I couldn't use the OS X version in Jaguar. Thanks for your other suggestions though.

Bubble trouble from ambrosia is my all time favourite. U can download the trial version to test it out.

Civilisation 3 is great if u are a strategy fan. If not, it will bore u to tears.

Championship manager works for Mac too. though u can only pay the 01/02 season currently.

and of course, warcraft3 if yr monitor can support it. my ibook 8vram can play even though the required ram need is 16. But, it runs real slow and have crash my computer 2 times already.

Warcraft III is slow on my 14" iBook 700 with 256 ram. Too slow at times to play effectively. The intermediate movies dont sync well with the sound either. I guess I need to buy more ram, although with prices as they are I am not sure I can afford it.

FWIW, Starcraft has always run fine in OS X for me, both in Jaguar and pre-Jaguar. If it's not running for you, then something on your system ain't right. Could be hardware maybe... have you tried disconnecting any external devices?
