Installing OS 8.5

Ok I have an iMac 233mhz and I downloaded OS 8.5 and I want to install it. Currently I don't have an OS on the computer but it will not boot from the CD I made. I made it a Mac OS bootable in Toast but it won't boot from it. I need to get this installed so I can update my firmware and install OS 9.2.2 which I own and paid for. Any help would be great thanks.

    I assume that the firmware update is required before you install 9.2.2: the main 9.2 CD might have the firmware update.



    IIRC first generation iMacs will boot Mac OS 8.1 if you can find a CD of that.



    Anyone know if the iMac can netboot? :cool:

    I already looked and the firmware is not on the CD, it says it should be in the CD Extras folder and it isn't.
