If you're gonna do any gaming, get the One wih the better graphics. 256 MB can run almost anything out there reasonably well, if not great.

The 2.2 ghz model ($1995) is far and away the better value IMO.

Only get the 2.4 ghz model with the video card with more memory if you know you'll defiantly need it and use it.

See this link for more details.

    thanks backtomac.

As far as gaming goes, how big of a deal is 256 over the 128?

I think it varies from game to game. You'll need to check the specs for the games you wish to play. Otherwise I don't think the extra 128 of VRAM will help you much.

pretty much exclusively Battlefield 2 which requires 128mb

    oh and another question...

how much better is a 160g harddrive running at 7200rpm vs a 200g hardrive running at 4200? Id like having the extra space, but id rather have better performance if its that big of a difference

    thanks,

IMO you are much better off with the 2.2GHZ plus a PS3 or XBox 360 than with the 2.4GHz.

I'll second that. $500 for 128MB video ram is absurd.

Apple always has priced the "top of the line" model way higher than it is worth. It's always better to buy the second model down.

It is there only for those people who don't care how much something costs, and send their employee to buy "the top of the line."

As far as the hard drive, you won't like 4200 rpm.

But on the other hand, most comparisons haven't shown much advantage of the 7200 over the 5400.
