HELL YEAH. (though miami craig has a thread about this) still cool none the less. Sucks that Logic beat them to X, but i guess when your the industry standard, you can do whatever you want whenever you want. Im still interested to see the transfer rate at studios from 9 to X where the mentality is, if it isnt broken, dont fix it. Everything works perfectly so theres going to be a lag to upgrade. Only time will tell.

I was told that DigiDesign has been working on this version since the OS X PUBLIC BETA day..........

    It's a long time

Well you have to consider how long it took them to perfect ProTools on 9. It really was (is) the most stable audio/mixing program available in OS 9. Now you have a reputation to uphold and a very different OS to transfer to, its gonna take awhile.

Digidesign says they've been working with apple since day 1 of OS X, and now the OS is ready for the audio programs and ProTools 6 is a go.

I dont think people are really comprehending the importance of this release. After X was released, each area of software had a heavy-weight that needed to be ported. Word/Processing, business: Microsoft Office, design & publishing: Adobe Photoshop, (there are a few other areas with less defined leaders) but absolutely Audio Production/studio: Digidesign ProTools. This is one of the last big beast apps that needed to be ported. Logic for X, great, but it aint the industry standard and doesnt look like it will be any time soon. Cheers for all the important apps being ported to X.

Man, I hope this comes soon. I am looking at the Digi-002 and am very much hoping that 6 comes out before Christmas.. Anyone know if the 002 supports a Beige G3? It says it supports G3 towers, so I wonder.... (I am planning on getting a 450 g4 upgrade on it)
