Macbook updated!
Not aluminium, unfortunately!
Still, up to 2.2GHz with Santa Rosa and 4GB RAM!

EDIT: The MBP now has a 2.6GHz option and a 250GB HD option although the Store page doesn't show this (it's on the normal product page).

Added: I don't see any evidence of a MacBook update at apple.com.

Well the specs list the GMA X3100... that's new, right?
very disappointing update for MBP, i wished that they will be intel extreme chip; x7800 or x7900 and nvidia 8700
for what it's worth i also await a nVidia 8700 and for goodness sake a SSD - solid state drive like 32 GB for the most commonly used files and the OS... and was amazed they hadn't incorporated this one already
for example :

Yes, I finally found traces of evidence. It's the most understated speedbump I've ever seen from Apple. I guess they don't want to take attention away from Leopard.
MOVE TO CURRENT HARDWARE
Both MacBook, and MBP were updated today. incremental update for the MBP which means we probably wont see anything from either of these until WWDC at the soonest, and that might even be pushing it.
I think it's a safe bet we won't see another MacBook speedbump at MWSF. There is no more new hardware coming from Intel that Apple would put in the MacBook in January. On the other hand, whatever mobile Penryns Apple can get will probably go in the MacBook Pro.
this should have been posted in current hardware, seeing as it is now "current".
why are you and the other person in this thread such a post nazi? give the guy a break, this has been a drawn out process for those of us waiting for the update. we check the future hardware to see what news might be out...so normally, you would not check the current hardware.

future hardware = future
current= current

Those chips are too hot to be put in a MacBook Pro (not enough room for the required cooling).

Why would you check Future Hardware for news? It's for speculation, rumors and ramblings. You need to start looking at Mac news sites like Macworld.com, Macnn, or Macsurfer. Use one of those for your home page like most everybody that is that interested in Mac news.

Intel GMA 3100 is NOT the same as Intel GMA X3100.
Wooops here it is... Intel GMA Wiki
Intel GMA 3100 is NOT the same as Intel GMA X3100.
I have no idea what you're talking about....
